You never know when the right interview opportunity will arise in a job search, so it pays to always be ready. Going over likely questions in your head helps, but there is no substitute for actual practice in interview conditions. This is why practice interviews are one of your best weapons in preparing for the real thing.
Try some of these methods to get interview experiences under your belt.
- Get Help From An Agency. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has established WorkOne centers in all counties throughout the state. They offer various services to job seekers, including interview coaching. Set up an appointment and treat the visit like a real job interview.
- Find Your School’s Career Center. If you attended college or a technical school, there are often career services offered to graduates. Explain that you have been unable to find work with their degree and ask to meet with a counselor. You can discuss your search, and many counselors will be glad to do a mock interview for you.
- Ask a Friend To Interview You. This is particularly helpful if the friend or family member is working in the field you want a job in. Remember to keep it professional and stay in your roles as interviewer and applicant. Dress as you would for a real interview, and schedule it in an unfamiliar setting if possible.
To nail an interview, you need to be relaxed. To be relaxed, you need practice. A slow job search can get you out of practice, and that is when you need to make your own practice. These are some ideas to get you started, but feel free to share any other ways you use to get interview practice by leaving a comment below.

I believe it is. I also believe the economic slowdown in several industries many of them work in is helping as well… i.e. construction = everything from concrete to roofing and beyond. I hope they are returning home and not just moving on to devestate and destroy another region of the US.
The proof is every where, Arizona, Oklahoma, when laws are enforced illegals leave in large numbers. Once we make America less attractive, they do self-deport.
If government regulates the economy doesn't that make the market not a “free” one? I'm all for raising tariffs on China, and kicking Mexico out of NAFTA (before you say dissolve NAFTA, bare in mind it is beneficial to the Northern States as Canada's industries are on the same level as the US), but Capitalism in any form need some limits. Look at the Scandinavian countries, their markets are better off the that of the US (per capita) and they have a mixed economy.
I totally can't keep up with peoples videos anymore Chris. I try though!
With the second phase of a massive California prisoner hunger strike in its third week, prisoners have begun to report grave medical issues. "Men are collapsing in their cells because they haven’t eaten in two weeks," says a family member of a striker at Calipatria state prison, "I have been told that guards refuse to respond when called. This is clearly a medical emergency."

If they are really interested in you, they won't ever make you pay for training/coaching upfront. Even if they do require training, if they believed in you they would take this out of your future pay in the form of higher commission on your first few jobs. So to see if they really believe in you, tell them that you really want to join the agency but just don't have any money for training (or maybe say that you can only pay $100) but that you would be happy to have them take the fees out of your first few jobs, for example, have them take a 50% commission instead of the standard 15-20% until the fees are paid off. At my old agency if we really believed in a model's potential and she couldn't afford to pay for her comp cards, we'd advance her the money interest free, then take it out of her first few jobs until the debt was paid off.
But what sort of training/coaching do you need? Most agencies might have you work one on one with a runway coach for 2-3 hours, that's it. That shouldn't cost more than $30-40/hour. You learn about posing on the set, doing unpaid test shoots. You don't pay for that. I can't imagine what other sort of coaching/training you need.
And of the people you know who are signed with them, find out how much they paid for their training/coaching, how much for their comp cards/portfolio shoots, and how much money they made in the past 3 months and in the past year. If they haven't made enough to cover the cost of their training in 3 months, they the agency isn't that great. And if they still haven't made enough in a full year to cover the training costs and photography costs, then definitely look for another agency.
